Kubota Super UDT and filters.

Kubota only makes UDT and Super UDT2.

Super UDT is no longer being produced, but old stock may still exist. Why buy old stock though?

The price using Messick's in 5 gallon pails is approximately $20:
UDT - $84.22
Super UDT2 - $103.12
(Not suggesting you buy from them given shipping costs, just using them for price comparison)

I use Super UDT2 in the B3030, L3130 and L4740 mostly for those cold winter months.

With respect to less whine or audible noise in general when using UDT or Super UDT2... Not certain it's due to the type of fluid, but perhaps a result of using new filters with lower differential pressure (no entrapped dirt) and new fluid that is the real difference.

Yes there is some sticker shock when changing all the fluids at once on the larger machines.

Just remember to remove all drain plugs during the process.

Kubota builds tractors from parts sourced worldwide.... They do not manufacture any lubricants or filters. Both are manufactured by independent contractors made to Kubota Engineering specifications.

I think it's been pretty established Kubota oil is made by Valvoline. But just because Valvoline makes it doesnt mean UDT/SUDT/SUDT2 is blended to the same specs as another Valvoline product. I'm sure JD or any other OEM & their parts supplier are the same way. Other aftermarket supplier or a different badged product from the same supplier quite likely meets different specs.

I don't know as I don't use it and never have since the initial 50 hour change. Always used Chevron Synthetic THC.

Bingo.

Both design and QC specs will differ.

Those who believe that (pick a manufacturer's) branded parts, lubricants, etc., are more expensive than what might be sold at Wal Mart simply because the manufacturer wishes to gouge their customers to maximize profit simply do not understand engineering, manufacturing and/or marketing.

I'm going to change all the fluids on a used M5400 I just bought. I'm starting with the tranny/hydraulic fluid as it's currently low.

My manual specs Kubota Super UDT. Local dealer quoted me $118 for five gallons! And I need 10.5 gallons!!! Is there a comparable product people use Luke UTF or PermatranIII?? Online I can only findSuper UDT2, what's the difference??

Also quoted me $41 for a filter, of which I'd need two. My manual doesn't give a part number, but I'm hoping I can find one online for less?

Thanks for y'all help.
First world problems.

I buy my Kubota supplies from the local dealer. I support the local economy. I encourage my dealer to stay in business and keep parts for my machines in stock. Every day I get into my machine Im thankful it痴 been reliable, saves my back, and I know if something goes wrong I dont have to wait for a slow boat from China or India for replacement parts.

My dealer also has a Kubota filter sale every February and gives a 10 percent discount. I buy my filters for the year every February.

In reality, slow boat from Georgia. Most Kubota's (except the larger M Series are made in Georgia, not Japan.

Wow mine is made in Japan..... p1.jpg

The loaders & I think hoes are made in Georgia. The tractors are made in Japan. US distribution & possibly some assembly in Georgia.
