Suggestions on where to get used parts

I need a PTO shaft for a deere 4100 cut. It sheared off just inside the case. I haven't opened the case up, so not sure if I just need a shaft and seal, or maybe more.
Im looking for a hood for a ls j2023h any help on where to buy one much appreciated.

Yeah, I'm thinking at least a shear pin. But stupid is hard to defend against ;-).
It is also nice when we realize that what we were doing to a piece of machinery when it failed was above it's capabilities.
We (as in me!) have been known to push the edges of good sense when I am involved in a job and I just need "a little bit more". When it breaks, I regret it, but that is life!

Got the used pto shaft for $400. Delivered in a few days. Waiting on Deere to ship the bearings, etc.

The used part did not fit. The overall length is the same, but the new part fits 5mm more inside the gear box. There's 5mm more spline for the gear. That extra 5mm will not fit inside the gearbox. The snap ring determines where the gear sits. I'll try again with tractorhouse for a 4100 HST.

My system for finding used or difficult parts is to get the part number and put it directly into google. That usually works; I buy parts from all over the EU.

Bearings and seals always come from a bearing supplier.

As an amatuer machinist, I make a lot of things myself.

I contacted each of the tractorhouse companies that had used 4100s. 3 replied. I got the pto shaft for 350, about 1/2 the price of new. I would suggest comparing detailed measurements as one was the same overall length but not machined the same. The inside portion of the shaft was too long. Interesting where mine broke. Seems a gear or something else should have broken first. One of the bearings didn't turn smoothly. I don't know if that was the case before or after the shaft broke. I replaced it and the one adjoining on the other shaft. I was going to replace the other pto shaft bearing but felt the original was better than new. New had plastic to retain the ball bearings.
