Day 1:
I'm really glad we got the chipper. Probably about 50 pines went through it today.

IMG_1644.jpgIMG_1643.jpgI just got this ripper from a local mom and pop store. No brand name on it but they get a lot of Howse equipment so it may be a Howse. I will ask next time I am by their store. It is build much stronger than the TSC or others that I saw online. I had it deep enough in hard clay to slip the tires on my LS P 7010 (stalled in forward motion) and nothing damaged.

No new pics today but we're still pushing through. We're suppose to get a little rain tonight so we may get some burning done tomorrow.
Concern over working the soil was completely unwarranted. It is super dry so the equipment isn't packing things down and between digging out all the stumps the the excavator tracks working things up, we've probably got a good 6-8" of loose dirt everywhere. It's as good as plowed. I'm going to spread 1/2 the lime now before I rake and box blade everything so that should get some if it worked down into the soil and then I'll do the rest at planting.

That's exactly what I expected you'd see. Lots of loose dirt, and only needing to level and grade. Good deal!
