Still shopping. Seriously looking at a Branson 4720h.
Does anyone know of or can reccomend a good stump grinder that works well on a 4720, 3pt, PTO ?

I'll be clearing a lot of timber next year and will need a good one.

Save your machine for other work. Find running up the hours for certain things not worth it.

Recommend finding a rental yard with a good sized portable stand-alone Vermeer. Used one a couple of years back and cleared up large area harvested for firewood in less than a day.

Don't waste your time with smaller units.

Woods makes a nice grinder for 25-50HP tractors, around $4000. Requires two remotes. I sold one to a customer recently on a 25HP tractor and had to test it myself before delivery :D. I did about ten 12" stumps in about an hour. Then I did a 36" stump and it took way longer since the grinder wheel is relatively small it took several passes. It may have taken an hour to do that one, but with practice I could see that time reducing. It is quicker than digging out stumps and makes a much smaller mess.

It would be nice to own a grinder of some sort....
I did rent a nice one a few years back took about 20 stumps out,
10-30 in's
Cost was $100 for 4 hr's or $200 for 24 hr's
A nice grinder will eat up a lot of stumps in 24 hr's.

I'm still looking into it. I took a look at Woods website and requested some information. They look the best to me so far. I need to see if there is a dealer nearby and go get a hands on look at one. I probably won't make the purchase till next spring.

Thanks Bob.
