For those of you that have purchased one - what do you think of it? Are you glad you did? I am thinking of getting a grapple and/or a stump bucket and seen the heavy duty stump buckets that come with the grapple and thought that may work. I want to do a few things - did stumps out, move some brush, move larger rocks (up to 1000lbs sandstones normally) , and be able to grab some logs and load them. It is a Wildkat bucket and it is about 42" wide at the top so I thought it maybe fine for brush and logs but am concerned with rocks - if anyone has any experience please let me know. Does anyone know of any discounts or other reasonably priced alternatives?
Happy Holidays!

I have the economy stump bucket with grapple. It's very good for small or rotten stumps. It's good for moving logs, but because the bottom jaw is relatively narrow, you have to be pretty close to the middle. Also, I find that you have to dig into the ground to be able to scoop up logs. If you're working on rough ground, that's not a problem. If you're trying to pick tree sections off of a lawn, it's going to be tough.

When I was talking to a salesman from a company whose product I didn't purchase, he talked down the grapple, saying that a grapple would get in the way while stumping. I didn't find that to be the case. When you try to dig under a stump, the grapple does present an obstacle, but it's easy to work around. Of course, you can always take the grapple off.

I got the cheapest grapple I could find off of an auction site. It was shipped very quickly, and had served me well. I have no complaints with the unit.

If I may ask, how thick is the steel on your unit and have you had any problems with bending it? Guess I also better ask what size tractor...
I am concerned that the lighter ones may bend up but also don't want to go too heavy.
THANKS

I was concerned that the 3/16 would be a bit too thin and I may bend it, but you are making me rethink that idea!
Thanks

I purchased a stump bucket from Gator;I find it just about impossible to use.
I just can't see what I am doing...its behind the FEL and the front of the tractor....don't use it much.I have a grapple on my regular bucket and a toothbar.I find that a lot handier.

Do you all have any suggestions for digging holes for planting trees in a 10-30 gallon pots? That was one of my major uses for the bucket (and maybe dig some ditches) since I don't have a backhoe currently
Thanks
