Went out to the 20 acres we just bought to do cleanup and mow pasture this past weekend - Saturday I was busy using my new bucket forks cleaning up piles of stuff - and generally running wild with the tractor doing stuff - for hours - .... wife sat in the truck listening to the radio and watching. At lunch she was looking hang dog and when I asked her what the problem was - she cried about not having anything to do to be able to help - so ... next day I made the mistake of showing her how to run the pto & mower .......

The way I see it, you now have but TWO choices.....

1.) Get used to being the "laborer".

2.) Buy a SECOND tractor (for you)

First they demanded to vote..................... /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

or, the other choice is to:

1. get a nice hammock
2. get a cooler full of icy cold ones
3. partake of an icy cold one
4. set up hammock
5. partake of an icy cold one
6. get in hammock
7. partake of an icy cold one
8. check eyelids for holes

So you're now allowed to sit in the chair with a cold beer and bark directions to her. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

KEEP doing what you did, sit on your butt and take the pictures /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif and also be nervous that she is never going to let you drive it again /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Not familiar with those roses. May want to send your pic to A&M or local Cooperative Extension.

Mike will be working a second job to buy goodies for "her" tractor!! It's a sad but not unusual tale. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Akkk those roses are the scourge of south Texas they have taken over hundreds of acres of pasture. They will yours too if you do not kill them. Mowing them is the worst thing you can do as all the litte pieces will sprout and grow more. You need to poison them sooon.

Those are cactus flowers and they do spread.... I had a small bunch in a flower garden for a couple years, Although the flower is a very pretty(did I just say pretty /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif)yellow the little barbs are for keeps.... /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Had to dig it up /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Mikim, At least you know where your tractor is /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I know about how they spread /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif.... but the only solution I know about is to dig each one up and toss it /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif... If you know how to poison 'em out .... PLEASE let me in on it... Mowing them this time was necessary - the grass / weeds were so high you couldn't see most of 'em and It needed that mowing asap. I know we created additional plants to dig - but .....

Google Grazon and/or Ally herbicides. Grazon is from Dow and is restricted use. Ally is DuPont and not restricted. One may do what you need.

I'll have to ask my son to reseach that Grazon for me .... he works for Daddy Dow ...... (in Lake Jackson when Daddy Dow sneezes the whole town holds it's breath and says bless you)

Looks like you will have to add about 60 months to your retirement date. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well - you have my sympathy. My wife loves the tractor as much as I do, thank God she works out of town three days a week. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
