That is all well and good, but how much would it have cost EA to stay in touch with those prior customers who were left in limbo waiting for the item(s) they ordered and by all appearances were never going to receive? How much would an apology have cost them for all the stress they put people through who were thinking they had just lost their money to a company that evaporated? Trust is a very fragile thing for a company to mishandle. I will not reward seriously bone headed public relations fumbles with my future business. IMHO.

Pure speculation on my part but the way this meltdown has dragged out, I suspect the owner was trying to sell the business and to let the new owner deal with the (by now) long-ignored customers. The key was finding a buyer.

This entire debacle is strange to me as a business owner.

As a business owner, my employees and customers get taken care of before ME!!! However, I make sure not to get over extended....EVER!!!!

Standing 40 thousand feet back looking at this absolute mess, there is only one thing that caused this.

My business has been going since 1961 when my father left my grand father's business to start his own. We are the 3rd generation and have expanded and grown from $800k to 10M.

I can see exactly what happened in this fiasco.

Comingling personal funds and business funds is pretty common with scenarios like this. That, and having good cash flow to make the financial errors easy to overlook until the "house of cards falls/fails".

With his "Glass Mansion on the Lake", he pulled welders to work on it when they had existing work orders with cut materials that went unworked.

Add to that, moving assets around to different people and family members to protect it from a bankruptcy filing.

In the end, the billables from vendors and cash flow went "upside down" and it was over.

At this point, I'm guessing some financial savior came into the picture to fund a restart. Whether their bad reputation will be remembered and can be overcome remains to be seen. If they have a successful restart, I would not be surprised to see a bigger company come in and "buy the assets" in a takeover similar to Kubota and Land Pride.

Hah! Talk about wishful thinking. I just got a sales solicitation email from EA. Fat chance of that ever happening guys. If my credit card company hadn't refunded the money I paid you quite likely I would STILL not have the grapple I ordered from you and paid in advance for. If you had had the common courtesy to contact me and let me know your plight, I might had been supportive. But just ignore me completely like you did after you grabbed my money? Not a chance in hell I will EVER deal with you again.

I tried that and received a county notice saying only on collection day…

Have not heard from EA but there was a time when I’d come home to voice mails about specials they had.

Well - we just aren't quite so sophisticated out here. The only problem with having the garbage container so far from the house - one mile - the raccoons will occasionally tip it over and root around.

Mine stays just inside the fence next to the driveway. My mailbox is just across the road. I roll the can out to the road on trash day. It sits on my property, so the county doesn't have anything to say about it.
