Oil & Fuel starving for fuel

my first post...hope it is o.k. to ask a trouble shooting question !
i have a j.d. 175 hydro. i have removed and cleaned the gas tank, all new lines, new fuel filter, new fuel pump, checked gas tank lid. starts right up and mows great for a period of time. then air bubbles start to form after the pump, they become more and more, until it appears there is no gas from pump forward. i have to choke all the way up to get back to the shed. undo the lines starts back up and runs for just a few minutes and same thing happens, any suggestions???? thanks

Have you tried unscrewing your gas cap when the problem starts? Bubbles might indicate that the fuel is pulling a vacuum on the tank due to a blocked vent hole.

This is a very common problem since it only take a little dirt or dry grass to plug the vent hole in the cap. Try a paperclip or other stiff wire to clear it out.

yes thank you, i have tried that, i have tried mowing for a few minutes with out the cap on..i m really lost. any other suggestions would be great. thanks

Is it vapor locking? Are the fuel lines or filter too close to the muffler or exhaust. Just a guess on my part.

Have you tried pulling the line off on the pressure side of the fuel pump and see if any fuel squirts out?

Check your fuel lines I found the line almost pinched shut on my L series when I was working on it, seems the factory bend was a little too tight. I added a spring outside to help hold it open, the better solution would have been one inside.

Try blowing air in the line from the fuel flter back to the tank with the "CAP OFF" to make sure nothing has plugged the line.
