Starter not getting full voltage

Need large short cables for 6 volts. Remember, 6 volt starters use twice as much current as 12 volt starters doing the same work.

First off, don't convert to a 12V system or use an 8V battery. You should be able to fix this without these.

• Check the condition of the cables. Are they all heavy gauge cables? (6V systems need heavier cables than 12V systems.) Are they in good condition? Don't forget the ground strap.
• Check all connections. Are they clean, bright, and tight?
• Have the battery tested. Does it pass the test?
