START USING FULL SYNTHETIC ENGINE OIL AFTER 400 HOURS..2004 B7800??

Just purchased this 2004 b-7800 with 422 hours. Thinking of using Rotella T6
Full Synthetic motor oil. Will switching to the full synthetic cause any problems?

Any other oil that you would advise using on this 30hp 4cyl.?

T6 5W40 is an excellent choice. Also, Valvoline Premium blue full synthetic 5w40 is another excellent choice.

No. Use 5-40 DIESEL oil with CI NOT SI rating. And you don't need all caps in the title line, it's considered shouting and totally unnecessary.

I switched my tractor to mobil 1 TTD when it had 1950 hrs. Runs great and starts much easier in cold weather.

Yes,
The 5w-40 Rotella T-6 will work fine

gas oils are API 'S' rated

diesel oils are API 'C' rated.

Many times you see oils that carry BOTH 'S' and 'C' ratings.

the letter after the S or C is the current revision level.

CI, CJ etc. sometimes you get a number after that.... denoting further info.. like CI-4 etc..

Make sure you use a C rated oil of at least the specs in your manual.

And yeah.. many use a synthetic C rated oil in 5w40. I use the valvoline 5w40 premium blue ful syn in my diesel trucks.

Diesel synthetic for Diesel engines specifically. CI= Compression ignition; diesels. SI= spark ignition, engines with spark plugs/gasoline.
Rotella, Mobil 1, Amsoil, Valvoline, etc.

BTW, the 5w-40 gives you a wider low temp range in the N. England climate than a 10-40 oil. I want the lowest temp starting advantage possible; you should also for CT climate.

Not only will it NOT cause any problems, it will solve some issues before they become problems.
Plus, it will start like summer in cold temps, lubricate the bearings much faster and extend engine oil intervals. I believe synthetic pays for itself.
