standard vs hydrostatic..

Well, I am feeble or so my wife says......:)

For me, an automatic belongs in the family buggy.

I'm a confirmed bachelor. Keg in the fridge, urinal in the storeroom, TV remote under my supreme control.
There are a lot of lucky women who don't have to put up with me (except when I'm fixing their busted stuff
--my pleasure, mam).

well.. after driving it for a little bit.. i can see how not having to press clutch to go fwd/rev would be an advantage using the loader...

im wondering if LS has a return policy where i could upgrade.. i put maybe 1-2 hrs on it.. had it for about 3 weeks.. anyone aware of return poilicies?

gonna call tomm and check about upgrading to hydro

thanks

I got the EZ and really feel its the best of both worlds...I get the clutch when I want to use it and the shuttle or clutch button if I want to save my left leg. Also I don't have the loss of HP that the hydro has...granted not much but when you are pulling that tree out you need every horse and every hoof.

platinumaa,

I tried looking back through your posts to see if I could figure out what you MOSTLY use your tractor for, but didn't have much luck. If you expect to be doing a lot of loader work then hydro is clearly the way to go. I would argue for many other tasks it's probably a wash as to which is better. I use my shuttle shift a lot for hogging some pretty dense brush in my woods and it does a great job so long as you are working in the right gear. I've never used a hydro so maybe I don't know what I'm missing, but I'm totally satisfied with my gear tractor and it's 2-stage clutch. I LIKE to think it's tougher than a hydro, but don't really know.

I don't know how it is with tractors, but I believe with cars a dealer can't sell one as new if it's ever been sold, even with very few miles. Maybe your dealer will be willing to work with you as they should have asked you about how you planned to use it before the sale. In any case, good luck with what ever you decide to do.
