Stalling when hot under load

My (diesel) Massey is trying to stall under load when hot. I say 'trying' because if I hold the drive pedals down as it starts to stall, it usually recovers in a second, resulting in more of a surging instead of a stall. If I don't hold drive down, it dies.

No problem when cold/warm. I do not suspect the fuel as the same source container works fine in the excavator no matter how hot. Suggestions on what to investigate would be welcome.

I’d check/change the fuel filter.

Also might be the fuel cap if it’s vented there and the cap is plugged and not venting enough at higher throttle. Next time it acts up, loosen the fuel cap a bit and see if that changes anything

I'll check those items out. The fuel tank vent is a tap off the spout just under the cap. A hose goes from there to somewhere. I'll make sure it is not blocked. Thanks for the reply.

Life happened, so this afternoon was the first chance I've had for tractoring since my post. It started stalling again with a bucket of gravel up an incline when the engine wasn't even all that warm. I completely removed the fuel cap to make sure there was maximal air equalization in the tank per seville009's suggestion. Voila, stalling disappeared. The breather hose that disappears under the deck apparently has a blockage in it. That should not be difficult to find and fix. Thanks, seville!
