Stability improvement

I have a Kubota L3000DT which I use some of the time to go into the woods to do some light logging, it has a Farmi winch on the back. I take out a few saw logs and a lot of fire wood.

I recently moved the rear wheels to the widest setting and the difference that has made in stability is notable. The difference in width is only about 6" on a side but that little bit makes a world of difference.

I would suggest that any one who drives their tractor on uneven ground set the wheel width to its maximum.

It is surprising how much difference a few inches of added width will make in stability. I found loading the rear tires with liquid ballast also makes a dramatic difference in stability as well as traction.

I also think that loading the tires makes a great improvement in stability and traction... It's far superior to wheel weights also....

How did you move the wheels? I have been comtemplating this but thought the weight of my rear wheels would be too much to handle without an overhead hoist. My tires are filled as well. I was planning on taking it in to my dealer for this.

Front axles are usually on a pivot, so increasing the width up front has nowhere the impact as rear. KennyV.
