If you have an iPhone, you can take a picture of about any plant and then scroll down and it has an option to look up the plant. It's pretty accurate. Wife and I use it on walks when we see something we don't recognize.
I have a android but I think its a mock strawberry

Wild Strawberry, used to use them to make pie, otherwise blandish fibery strawberry taste.

When we were kids the parents would have us pick bowls of them to make pie.
Other than that, we now just leave them for the wildlife.

Same here. They grow low enough in our back yard that I can mow over them and the berries stay.
