My seat on my JD 4100 is showing evidence of intial phases of cracking and/or splitting on the upper, outer edge. Aside from applying tape, are there other options I should consider that will repair the existing cracks and is there anything I can do to prevent or at least delay future cracking in the same and other areas of the seat? Thanks.

Do a google search for Vinyl Repair Kit. I don't have any first hand experience with them, however.

I have had good luck with "marine GOOP". It slows down thr cracking and keeps you backside dry.

I used black silicone to fill the crack in my vinyl seat. It has filled the crack for nearly a year now w/ no signs of giving up and it matches the seat color.

On my last tractor I tried the vinyl repair on the seat and it was all but useless.

Go for the duct-tape cause it's high-speed and holds up pretty well.
