Yesterday I used one of my new safety spout diesel cans for the first time, and even with the spout rigged to stay open, the fuel flow is really slow compared to the older fuel cans. Although I have posted a thread about the gadget I use for filling my Deere so I don't have to hold the can as it empties, I thought I would repost it showing how well it works with a safety spout can. The only way to get one of these (censored) new cans fully emptied using my support is to block up the can when it has about a gallon left in it. And this sure beats holding onto the can for the ten minutes it takes to empty.
Just be sure your fuel tank will hold the contents without overflow because it's hard to get a partially empty can back upright without spilling...me bad, these new cans were supposed to stop any spillage.
