I sell parts and service for Bombardier, Nodwell, Gotrack, Flextrack, Softrack, ASV, clark components, and others. I'm rebuilding my brothers bucket and lift cylinders on Massey Ferguson MF34. Is there an easy way to start the retaining rings out of the access removal hole. The glands don't seem to want to turn and I don't want to damage them. From what I understand when you turn the gland you start the retaining ring out of the hole and rotate one full turn for removal. Is there a trick? Or are they normally stubborn and need a bigger hammer?

Welcome....

The trick IS to turn them......freeing them up can be the tough thing sometimes...keep working at it to loosen....(heat/lube/heat/lube)
