Today I was roaming and came across this video of days gone past. Other than the corn bit the rest is all quite familiar to me. Some pleasant memories and some recall of a lot of hot dusty, hard work.

I enjoyed the video. Perhaps some of will also enjoy it.:D

I think you can hear lots of pride in the voice of the narrator. It's interesting how he seems to emphasize the good and minimize the bad parts of being a farmer. It's a very enjoyable short video.:)

Holy crud, now I'm all wore out. :p

Grandpa had a baler similar to the one shown in the last 30 seconds of that video, us kids rode the hay rack and stacked the bales. I will never forget telling little brother not to stack so high, it would tip. He knew better of course, so I hopped off just in time to see the whole load tip over :D

Thanks for the memories :)

Thanks for the link Egon. My mom still has the old horse drawn mower that my grandfather used. Now I see how it worked. Looking at the video, I see how controlling the horses was a big part of mowing. That would make mowing less boring than cruise control.

With a good team the control was quite easy. :D
