Seeking equipment recommendations for a small one man Gold Mining Operation. Considering a Diesel Massey-Ferguson 2300 Series with a bucket and backhoe. Bad road to claim requires narrow and light equipment that I can trailer in. My haul vehicle is an older Jeep @ 5-1/2' wide and there are several really tight places to manage.

Has anyone experienced similar weight/width restrictions and how did you solve those challenges ? ? ?

Welcome. I spend about three days a year in Lakeview. The Ferguson 2300 is good for small acreage but I don't know if it will hold up to digging any hard rock. Is this a placer mine or hardrock mining. If you are placer mining you may not get enough traction. Are you feeding a trommel? Lift height is a consideration for the FEL. Remember trailer is going to be wider than your tractor. Good luck.
