Sooty exhaust

I have an old b7100 with many hours on it. Right from the start, when I bought it, the exhaust pipe had black soot in it that sometimes shot out when running. I have since started using power service in the fuel and it has vastly improved the performance of the engine. It does not burn oil, only white smoke when starting even under load. The problem is that it's shooting out more soot, just small bit's of black.........all over, after about 3 hours of snow plowing yesterday. I'm wondering if the additive is just cleaning the injectors and it will stop soon? I hope so, I looked like a chimney sweep after I got done.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

That is old......but good. I had one a long, long time ago. Matter of fact, it was my first Kubota.

I suspect that the bits of soot are from moisture collecting in the muffler and exhaust stack.

Even my new M9 pops out some black stuff once in a while.

I did a lot of work with that little tractor. The 3 cylinder is unstoppable.

Had an old cummins 350 that did that and every once in a wile tap the exhaust then rev the motor up to knock the soot out, {clean the pipes} . paul
