You should be good to go with the W R Long hydraulic kit on the back. As you can see from these pictures, that is about a standard rear QA setup. I use the same QA set that runs my grapple in the summer to power my top link to tip the blower back and forth, but it would also rotate the chute or tip the top.

Moving snow will be a lot easier and a lot more fun this year.

Hi:

My 2 cents, 3 with inflation.

Pronovost is the top of the line blowers in Quebec and used by most contractors.

I have 2 Bervacs, (one I scrapped) first was 48" and my present one is 60" and my tractor is 48" wide.

The 48 was such a PIA as my tires would compact the slopped over snow that the next pass would have the tractor tilted sideways. So much so that after 4 or 5 snow falls my drive looked like a luge run!

I now run using the 60" blower for a couple of years with satisfaction.

You actually want to leave abou 1-2" as a 'base' and not clean 'dry', especially if you have a gravel base drive otherwise you will blow gravel occasionally and that does a great job in 'sand blasting' your shute.

The Bervax blower has the gearbox in the center of the augers (cheaper to fabricate) while you really want the reduction gearing anywhwres else for more effiency.

Bigger the turbine blades and more of them= better blowing = more HP required.

The bervac with the center gearbox does tend to clog up with wet heavy snow more than the other style.

I line my snow shute with industriel grade plastic sheet to lessen the sticking but still carry a length of 2 x 3 to poke out the clogs.
