Kioti DK40, Mechron 2200
We had a little snow out here south east of Denver. The new DK40 did a real fine job of handling the 6ft drift in front of the garage. Scooped out the drift wit the loader and scraped the driveway with the rear blade. The only problem is after I put the blade down, the 3-point won't lift it back up. Any ideas as to what the problem could be?

I haven't been on a DK40 but at least some of the Kiotis have a valve that controls the rate that the 3PT lifts/drops and that can get moved inadvertently into a position that will prevent you from lifting it. The valve on my tractor is near my ?right heel on the floor. Look to see if you have a valve thereabouts and turn it the other way then try to lift the 3pt again.

IT: I know the valve you are talking about. I don't think I moved it but I'll check it out. The 3-point was working fine when I started the snow job. Could low fluid level be to blame? I'll check that in the morning as well.

Make sure you don't have the rear remote lever locked in.

Dang,now that's what I call drifting...haven't seen that in year..yikes.

Well that's one way to get feel for your new tractor.

Now that looks like some fun snow clearing. You're getting hit hard and we are having an unseasonsbly warm winter so far. I still have green grass to look at.

The valve IslandTractor talked about is for the drop rate but doesn't effect the lift on the CK30. If the fluid was low, I think you would still get some movement unless it was very low. More than likely, it's the remote lever as Wallace advised. Playing with that much snow probably had you working hard and maybe bumped the lever. I hope some of that melts before Spring.

Rub it in.. I got a snow blower to try on my CK25 and NO snow!

I can't remember not seeing even a flurry this late up here in Massachusetts.

On the 3 point.. what Wallace said.

I haven't seen a drift like that for years but it looks like your 40 is putting the hurts to it. Hope you get your problem resolved and that the 40 is a good tractor for you. So far we have been snow free in the part of Pa that I live in.

Problem solved! As is often the case, the real problem was the nut behind the wheel. Turns out Wallace is the winner, I had the remote lever locked in position "B". That probably happened last night as it was getting darker and colder and I was fumbling around for the position control. The remote lever on the DK40 is at about the same location as the position control on the old MF 20C that I'm used to playing with. Thanks for all the replys. Have a Merry Christmas. I hope all who want it, get all the snow we had and more. I'm outta here for the holidays to see the grandkids in Texas...

Rick has bailed me out of a few "nut behind the wheel" episodes too. :D

That drift reminds me of an old SNOW story. 1967 Ft. Jackson SC in basic training. We had 4" ( yes 4") of snow and they closed down the base for 2 days till it melted off. They had us hold hands to walk up the hill to the mess hall so no one would fall and break something. After basic and AIT it was the Nam but don't get hurt in the snow. I was laughing walking up the hill and the First shirt wanted to know what was so funny. I told him that where I come from we don't worry about snow until it gets over the front bumper and plugs the grill. He asked where I was from and I told him outside Buffalo NY, His eyes got big and his comment "that must be the snow capital of the world, Y'all don't drive in this snow do ya?" was one I'll never forget.

I was complaining to my family the other day about the amount of snow I had to move. Nothing like Denver, glad everything went will for you.

In the summer I wonder if my Task Master 438 is too big. But come winter I'm glad to have the power and weight.

Did you check the draft speed knob? I did the same thing once and could figure it out for a little bit. must have accidently bumped it or somthing. it the knob with the turtle and the hare on it and for heavier items ( I have one of those Jinma -6 chippers) works great very heavy though. I had to adjust it up to hold the heavier load. if you turn it down it should drift down right away.if thats the problem.
