Snow Plow started

Thanks DJ54 for the slotting method. I got a plasma for Christmas last year, still playing with it. It is a fun toy. I do not have enough time during the week to get much done though. An hour before dinner on a good day.
I will make sure there is room for 4 pullback springs.

Things are slowly progressing here on the plow build. No snow to speak of this year so the urgency to finnish is not there (add in Christmas, a cold that just won't end, and a warm holiday).
The A frame and pivot cylinders are now ready for paint.
Finishing up the mount on the tractor.
The Blade is painted.

lighter duty truck plows range from 12-14 gauge. Heavier duty plows made for 3/4-1-ton trucks are usually 10-11ga.

Finally got this blade finished and tested yesterday. We have not had enough snow for quite a while. So far, everything is working as expected.
I have not painted the mounting as I was not sure if I would be modifying it. The new "Water-born, eco-friendly" paint on the blade failed when I was assembling the pieces. It will have to be sandblasted off and I will start again. The surface prep was proper and clean (as advised by the paint supplier), not sure why the paint did not adhere. I could not buy self-priming epoxy here anymore. It is only sold to Pro's and have to fill out paperwork to justify its use.

Now we just need more snow so I can play.....

The snow plow is somewhat modular so that I can move around the small pieces without a crane(tractor). The front mounting plate on the plow frame slides into a slot (mounted to the front of the tractor) and is pinned in place. I have a piece of square tube going back that ties into the loader frame. I take up the slack with a large bolt that pushes on the end of the square tube. I had to get a lathe in order to turn down the end of the bolt so that it will come apart when the end mushrooms.
The loader frame is tied in at the rear of the engine and at the back of the tractor.

Very nice, you may want to consider adding one or two more trip springs, I have a feeling that blade will be tripping often on you.
