Snow Equipment Owning/Operating Snow Is Coming!!!

don't quite understand ...is this a diesel tractor with a snowblower on a PTO ...if so, 3600 rpm for your engine speed seems (incredibly) high to me and, just guessing, is causing your PTO to run much faster than 540 rpm as it is designed to do (unless it is 1000 RPM PTO and implement)...I would think that about 2500 engine RPM would give you 540 RPM at the PTO ...and longevity for engine and implement, I suspect

So, the snow is coming down hard. The FEL works great!!! It sure beats shoveling. The unloaded-unchained r4's spun, but were not too bad. Have some video, but I'm still trying to convert it...

My B7610 had loaded R4's until Sunday. I finally got turfs (also, now loaded as of Sunday). My B7100 had turfs, and, I think, got better traction in the snow. I resorted to chains last winter.

The large tread blocks of the R4's just slide on that thin layer of snow/ice on the pavement, and have no lateral traction.

What a waste! Last night they were calling for 8-12 inches... We don't even have an inch on the ground here in Annapolis Maryland. Time to fire some of these so called weather forecasters!

Wayne

Same here, near Hershey, PA; only the forecast was 4-8. We got only a dusting.

The wind is still blowing here in Maine. Un-real.

I did get my neighbor cleaned up. Mine can wait one more day....tomorrow afternoon the winds are suppose to settle down.

We have had 25+ sustained wind for nearly 48 hours. And, it's cold. I can't remember when we last had a wind event quite like the one we are experiencing now.

Brutal.

Yeah, that's what I figured. It is not too bad; it beats shoveling...

About 14 inches here. Used a Bobcat to sorta clear the road in. Put in a small fence to keep out ATVs and then rented a bobcat with forestry cutter to clear some areas while off work. Here are a few photos. Best to all.

Oh ok, I was thinking it was a pto type. sorry
Do you normally run snowblowers at 540 if it's a pto type??

I run mine there. A little higher even, depends on conditions but you do need to keep the rpms up, especially without a live pto or hst. With only one rear speed slow enough to snowblow, if I get in really heavy stuff my only option is partially raising the blower and make two passes until I have a lane. Next tractor will have a live pto AND probably HST.

Anybody noticed the weather is kinda wacky this year? Thank goodness for global warming!!! Here in Tennessee, we have had several bad snow storms - bad for us here is 3-4 inches  But we have had a lot more days with snow on the ground and accumulation than in past years (according to the neighbors).

But in the next few days, they are supposed to be getting significantly MORE snow farther SOUTH of us than we are supposed to get?!?!?

IT is pretty - from inside my sunporch.....

In central NH, we got 6" of flurries  Saturday, a couple more dustings yesterday & last night... at least the temps have stayed cold enough that maybe I've got my packed snow base back! Always nice to see the gravel on my driveway covered up!

We live in Western NC about 20 miles from the SC state line on Intersate 26.
We currently have about 11 inches and it is still coming down! Christmas Day there was about 7.

Upstate SC have between 5 and 8 inches..
Wacky for sure!!!

I would not be surprised if it does not total up to 15 - 18 inches by tomorrow night!
