We had a super warm winter.....and it appeared that winter was over. So...I pushed it a little....and put my water pump on the well. Bingo! Cold front comes thru and froze my well pump. (busted the pump)

Also heavy snow put down lots of trees.....one on my shed. Minor damage to the roof. Grrrrrr Winter aint over till it's over.

I thought a lot of people would get caught this year with the warm winter. I keep hearing people are putting in their gardens much farther north than I and hope it works out for them. I still think we have another round of cold coming.

Still got the winter tires on my car, at least for a few more days, just in case.
Nice pic of the tractor lifting the tree off the roof.
I put a pump in our creek but I'm waiting for a few more weeks.Had lots of rain so everything is still nice and damp.  :confused2:

Winter just isn't completely over until May, around these parts. Of course, we had summer in March and spring in April, so far, but I keep controlling the urge to get ahead of the game. I just don't trust it.

Yeah.....well I suppose rushing spring cost me about $600. in water pump repairs and roof damage. Lesson learned.....again. ;)

Edit: Why am I taking the blame for the tree falling on my roof??? Duh! Rushing spring had nothing to do with that ill-fated deal. lol :D

It never warmed up here. While the rest of the nation was setting heat records we were still wrapped in winter clothes.

Had frost again this morning. For a few days no frost and we even got the day time temperature several degrees above normal. Like last year so far this spring has been cooler, wetter and duller than normal. :(

We had temps on multiple days in the 80s in both March and April this year. Even a 90+ or two!

Last year I had morning frost on the 1st, 2nd, and 6th of May.

We didn't have much of a winter. Not a lot of snow or rain. No April showers... May flowers - yet. I checked the well and it is down 4-5'. This would be the usual drop in mid-June. Also, I have a few wet spots in the back pasture/woods area. Normally I would be making ruts and last year I did well into August. It is bone dry - no ruts. Which is great by worrisome.
Firefighters are putting out bush fires already. We were predicted to have rain for the next 4-5 days... now it looks like we will only get a few days with a drop in accumulation.

This is not good...
