IDK. Maybe the change in color would trigger a new round of certifications for the new color that they didn't want to go through?

I bought my blue kerosene cans from amazon for my generator, but to keep the diesel in my compact tractor I use a old 5 qt engine oil container left over from servicing my vehicles or a 1 gallon antifreeze jug and fill it up whenever I go close to a station that has diesel, diesel will not harm most cans or jugs

a blue kerosene jug would work.

Doesn’t vp racing sell 2.5 gallon in any color you want or go to tractor supply and buy a clear ujug and fill half full best I can do for you good luck

Walmart sells (well last time I looked) grape juice in a 1-gal clear plastic jug with a carry handle incorporated. I use one for my 2-cycle fuel. At the moment it has to be five years old - but might be ten. Well worth the price - and healthy, too.

I used Krylon® Fusion All-In-One® yellow spray paint on my small No-Spill can about 5 years ago and it held up great. Easy to fill my B7100.

I use a red 2 1/2 gallon one for diesel.

I recycled two Qt Ready Mix Fue Cans that came with my Husqvarna Chain Saw and custom fit them onto my 4x4 - I am re-doing the holder for my 18" Saw at the moment. Built teh retainer out of 1/2" PVC tubing - works like a champ!
