Hit stump with cutter today and smoked the slip clutch and the blades would not turn.
Can i tighten the bolts on the slip clutch assembly and correct the problem?
Appears to have about one quarter inch of material left.

Yes, that is the method for adjusting. But that is a big gap. Any rust on the adjusting bolts/nuts?

Should have a manual that gives the adjusting procedure.

I ended up spending about $20 for two new fiber discs and replaced ours for a like new job. One side on one was "frozen/rusted" to the metal part so there were only 3 surfaces that could slip.

Its possible when you hit the stump that you also still did damage to your gear box and it locked up. Can you turn the gear box by hand?

Tightning should do the trick. If you need slip disc pads, we have a pretty good supply. Ken Sweet
