On Sunday afternoon I got a few more hours to work in it. The deck is plywood going crossways. I left the 1/4" angle up a bit to slide the ply in from the rear. Then I only have to arrach it in the middle a couple places. I think this is going to be ok. In the end I have some more spare ply that I intend to run long ways. Two runners the width of my tractor wheels. Glued and screwed this will give me 1.5" of crossed up ply, should be plenty strong.

This about where I left it on Sunday, then some yard work to finish. The front side is all 1/4" 2" angle.

Here is the side rail. The angle covers the top part of the channel. Nice thing is once the ply is removed I can get the stick in there for a solid top weld. The lower side rail is more nice looking surplus. 1/4"x3" flat bar. I ran it down to the bottom of the channel. This left about a 1" gap. Not sure how I liked it at first but I'm ok with it now. Especially when I priced some 6" flat bar last week. Hmm about $6 for 8' vs. $18 if I recall. I'll be able to hook straps and stuff in the middle.

Just for grins I brought out my ATV ramps. The angle wasn't that bad on the 6' ramps. I'm thinking about a 7.5' ramp made from channel (heavy) but it'll hold the tractor and act as a drop in rear gate. The aluminum ramps are actually some scaffolding (about 10" wide and a channel). They might actually hold up the tractor seeing how the weight will shift from the tractor to the trailer. But I don't think I want to test it unless I have a stand under them. We'll see. When I moved the tractor I used SYP 2x10's with a cinder block unter them in the middle.

All for now!

Rob

Nice, I looked at the first attachment before I read it and said to myself "that looks like the Triple S surplus yard", and it was. I've spent many a hour there.

Yep they are starting to reconize me there. I just wander around the surplus yard at lunch sometimes. Of course the real action is at the check out counter...:)

But I try and stay away from Saturday morning. On a nice day that can be a rat race with all the people there. Get there about 8 and it's not to bad.

Nice looking trailer. You could use it to haul a tractor. Great job.
