Skidsteer bucket level indicator

Hello All,

My tractors have always had bucket level indicators but the skidsteer does not, for some reason. (Maybe its because you should be a better operator by the time you get your hands on a SS) The problem is when using an angling snow plow with a rubber edge. It's setup so that the shoes float the rubber off the ground a fraction of an inch when the pivot pin is plumb. But when the blade is angled and the pivot pin is not plumb, one or the other rubber ends is pushed into the ground and wears very quickly. You can't see it from the cab and wouldn't want to get out to look every time you adjusted the curl. How can I make sure the pivot pin is plumb without a bucket level indicator or getting out of the cab each time?

You could make or have maded a clamp on 2 piece indicator ,with on on the cylinder rod and the other on the barrel of the cylinder when the two are aligned then you are in the position you wanted.

That should work theoretically. Since one end can't be mounted on the cylinder rod without being peeled off during retraction, the assembly would have to span all the way from the rod clevis to the cylinder body, which might be a little unwieldy. I had such a setup from the factory on some top and tilt cylinders- the idea being that you could use them as a visual reference system to return to a preset position. Eventually they fell off. But with better engineering...
