I have 25 hours on my Conquest that I have owned for a month, 20hp Briggs Vanguard, 44” deck, 46” dozer blade. I replaced the turf tires with 23x10.5-12 Ag tires.
This tractor is replacing a JD Saber 1642 gear drive that I abused tremendously and almost always did what I asked of it.
I am quite happy with the Conquest. Most of the time has been spent with the dozer blade moving dirt, brushpiles and snow and towing logs and branches out of the woods. It has lots of pulling power and will push a significant amount of material with the dozer blade. I believe I was expecting a little to much in the way of dozer capabilities and have learned how to handle the dozing jobs by moving a small amount of material at a time.
This weekend was the first time I used it to mow. I mowed a ditch and the field on either side of my driveway. This area has not be cut for years so it was pretty over grown, it was dry knee high grass with some scrub brush mixed in. The mower deck worked great and I was impressed with what it went through without slowing at all.
It is a well laid out machine, everything is easy to get at and routine maintenance is a breeze.
I can definitely go places I could not go with the Saber.
The differential lock comes in handy in very muddy areas or if you sink one side of the tractor into a freshly dug trench(I did this weekend) however I can say that if you are pushing a large brush pile and the wheels start to slip it does not help. By the way, those Ag tires dig quite a trench when you spin them.
Conclusions thus far are that it seems to be a very solid, capable woods/yard tractor. Be realistic in your expectations for the dozer blade and it should be a real workhorse.
