Simple approach for adding a tool box

Nice! I really like the simplicity of this solution. I am reasonably good at building things, but time is something I don't have much of. I can fit a few things in my box (Ford 1620), pins, vice-grips, hammer, fencing pliers, tape measure, and maybe camera, but it's shallow and narrow and no longer has a lid, so I've been pondering solutions. Wish I had a welding set, but well, then I'd have to learn how to weld, LOL. Plus your approach means a person could go to the hardware store and use any tool box (my time is worth a few bucks eventually). Likey....

I am thinkinf of a tool box & a tackle box one with the little compartments that fold out when I open the top. A place for all those little nuts, screws, "O" rings, wire connectors, cotter pins, etc & in the bottom I can keep an cpl. of screwdrivers, pliers, things that always wind up under the wrenches in a tool box. The tool box for some sockets, wrenches, larger screwdrivers etc. I figger with 2 boxes I won't have to look thru so much stuff every time I need a tool. I will pretty much kno which one I need to look in. Where with one big one what I need is always on the bottom..

Thanks for your kind comments. Like you, I don't own a welder, nor do I really know how to use one. What I really liked about this solution was that it used standard stock steel (2x3 angle iron) and it bolted on using existing mount points. The most difficult part was the cut and although I probably could have done it myself, for a few bucks I had it done at a local welding shop where I bought the stock. You're right about using just about any type of toolbox, but I choose to go with the Kubota branded one as a way to combine form and function.
