I just bought a sidewinder sw66 tire driven brush hog. Its in great shape even has the wheel guard, but it seems way to noisy. When I spin the pto by hand the tire makes a lot of rubber squeaking noises. I had the tire at 36 psi and the tire looks fine. Can anybody who has owned one of these beasts help me out.

Sorry to be so late responding, but I have the same cutter. It does make a squeaking noise until the rubber warms and gets some speed, but it is harmless. show us a picture of the unit. There is a pneumatic drive tire made for it, so be sure someone hasn't substituted an automotive tire.

When I had one I do not remember it making much of any kind of noise at all. I would suggest checking the disk the wheel rides on for damage and that it is the correct tire as has been mentioned. Last check that the tire is putting the correct amount of pressure on the disk, which means adding or deleting shims from under the pillow block bearings that support the tire assembly. I no longer have information on how to set/adjust it but it can be found on line
