Just took delivery on JD 4110 - was cutting my 5 acres on sat and noticed (very uncomfortable) shift lever on left side hitting my leg. Has anyone else noticed this and have a fix for it?

What bothers me is getting on and off that side, which is a requirement with the joystick for the loader.
My dad doesn't like to use it because you have to lift your leg up and over it or try to squeeze around it.

I guess I got over (or got used to it) the lever hitting my leg while operating it...forgot about that complaint! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Can't say as I've noticed either problem. I always get on from the left like a horse so the FEL control isn't in the way. As for the shift lever, are you talking about a gear version, or the HST shifter? The HST shifter doesn't seem to be in the way at all for me.

I have the HST. I have been mowing very rough grown keep hitting my left leg on the shifter (orange) knob.

Don't have that problem (either one) with my 4300. I suspect the 4110 size is just small enough that those controls just have to be somewhere, and the platform and seat area is crowded a bit.

Maybe you can bend the lever and get it out of your way.

I have a 4100 and have not had a problem with either the range lever or the FEL control stick. Maybe change the seat position?
