Ma and Pa's place was at the end of a dead end road with a large turn around area.
In the winter the Snow Plow would turn around 15-20 feet across our lawn and take out the mailbox in doing so. He had plenty of room on the road. Just a city dick head.
It wasn't so much a lawn thing as much as having to clean up and level the area after the thaw.
Pa often worked construction in the winter. One job they had they dug up some rocks the size of small VW bugs. The contractor had to get rid of them and was happy Pa wanted them.
They put 2 of them on either side of the driveway and beside the mailbox just on our property.
Few weeks later we had a major snow storm with high winds. The rocks looked like snow drifts.
Bang! Broke some stuff on the plow. Nobody ever said anything.

Driver never crossed the line after that though.
Years later someone paid good money for the rocks for landscaping.
