It probably has more to do with the quality of the steel. We run a fleet of truck for work, and for a few years GM products were constantly breaking springs. We generally get a new truck every 3 years, in that time at least one side in every truck had been replaced. The local power company was having similar problems.I have seen a lot of campers with broken springs. My old camper had a lot more spring than any I have seen in the last maybe 10 years.
