My first thought was that they may not even know. Then I saw the chain.

That happens... lot of scrub on a big heavy trailer... a friend had a 3 axle 5th wheel toy hauler and he had a heck of a time with tires until he went with WAY over rated tires... I think he said 14 ply? When you run out of spares, gotta jack up an axle and let it ride till you get to a tire shop...

In this case looks like he might have broken a leaf spring. Maybe took the tire off and used chain to get off the side of the road.

Except that the original post said he'd followed it at 60 down a 2 lane road, and caught up to it at a stop light.

Not denying that. But if you look closely at the picture the leaf spring looks to be broken and not connected to the frame. May just be the picture.

It does look like that, but we passed a discount tire and plenty of repair shops in town. Person just kept trucking! It had a serious list and looked pretty unsafe to me. Could have left it at the home depot or Walmart lot and went to find a spring.

If it isnt loaded heavy, it should be able to make it to the tire shop if he takes it slow.
