If the bed is 6 foot, those boards must be 12 or 14. Didn't look close, but I think they're 2x6s.

It's funny how one picture looks so much worse than the other. Things always appear different based on your perspective and viewing location.
I know that's not allowed here, I think it's six feet beyond the tailgate, or is that four? with a flag, but if everyone was careful and observant, I really don't see anything wrong with it.

Around here it's 4' without a flag in the daytime or a light at night.

It looks like at least 8 feet sticking out to me.
6' bed plus 2' tailgate, so those look like 16' boards. But even if they are, as long as they are secured and have a flag they are ok here. There is no limit on how far something can hang out the rear as long as it has a flag if 4'+.

Not true. Federal law limits overhang from the center of the rear axle to 15'.

Length or no, what about the weight distribution with that much hanging off the back so far? There were at least 5 or 6 stacks 5 or 6 wide. Then he had some shorter boards stacked on top towards the front.
