In the guys defense... There is about a eighth inch rise from the hard tonneau cover to the bed side.... So maybe he's thinking that it's secured by that small recess?

I keep toying with the idea of a pickup truck. But then I have a day like today. Another 16' load on my wee 4x8 trailer. 3' ahead over the tongue, the rest out behind (flagged). There's no way I could do that with a pick up ... unless maybe angled up over the cab and out past the tailgate, but that might be too high. My whole load today was about 30" off the ground.
