You did what?
You've never been in the air while offroad? I get my Jeep in the air on public roads now and again, and maybe to often offroad. But hey... That's what ProRock axles, Fox suspension, hydraulic ram steering and Fusion 2.5 ton steering parts are for. Go big or go home!

You did what?
At the end of the day in the outback.

The roads are graded and allow stupidly fast speed. (no cops there)

A cow is the most dangerous animal at night. If you keep the stupidly fast speed at night when you see them you are going to hit them. The car doesn't brake too well on the gravel. That is the instance when ABS is worse than locked brakes I suppose. On the other hand the stability control saved our hide several times.

The outback has different "dimensions" than more densely populated places.

Here is a story: I used to share office with GE guys. Few days before leaving Australia for my break I asked guys what they do when they have a day off and I recommended to them to go to Karijini National park. I typed detailed instruction how to get there, how much water and food to take etc. The first paragraph said" When leaving town of Karratha stop at the gas station and fill the tank until it squirt out. You have to have two spare tires with good pressure etc. When I returned to the job about a month later I heard a story. Thery took two Landcruisers three people per each. They got to the Karijini or near by and one of the cars died and wouldn't restart. So they left it there. Upon returning they informed the rental company the car is about 350 km this way pointing the general direction I suppose. They said there is something wrong with car because it doesn't run. It took about three days to find the car. When the rental company found it the wheels and engine were gone. Now when you read the fine print on the rental contract it list all the exclusions. One says: If you have any accident on gravel road it doesn't apply. In other words it was very expensive rental. As you might guess the car wouldn't run because it run out of fuel. Needles to say the every Landcruiser we rented had a roll cage, two spare tires and heavy duty front bumper. It also had two fuel tanks with combine capacity around 50 or 55 gallons of diesel. The Landcruiser should make around 2000 k with single fill. The driver was a guy from Holland and he couldn't get it to his head that in civilized country like Australia there won't be a gas station. There is actually a gas stations about 100 km from the place they run out of fuel. One is at the Tom Price iron ore mine. I didn't mentioned it in my instructions because it din't occurred to me they might need the info. When you are leaving city of Karratha your cell phone will go "no signal" in about 20 minutes. your radio will go silent in about 45 minutes. And you are on your own.
Edit: The material used to make the gravel is hematite (iron ore). Normally it is black but it turns rusty red when it oxidizes over time..
