Service Test

Well I will see how good my dealer is at routine service. My Maxx 25 hit 97 hours so it is time for the whole enchilada. I don't have a way to deal with that quantity of fluids so I am paying.. Stopped by the dealer Thursday and talked to them about it, told them I didn't want them to pick it up until they had all the filters on the shelves. Called this morning to see about picking it up and came out about noon. Said they may have it back this evening or tomorrow morning. So far so good!

What did they charge for the service?

I got it back about 9:AM Tuesday morning. Really fast service.
Replace all fluids, greased all the fittings, replaced all filters, torqued all required fasteners,30 miles transportation,2 hours labor, came to 287.32. I don't know if that is high or not,50 of it is transportation. I need a trailer!

For $50 transport charge, I would stick with the dealer. It would cost you nearly that much in fuel to transport it yourself assuming it is 30 miles each way and you would need to make 2 round trips. Even at 15 miles each way = at least 6 gallons of fuel @10MPG for the tow vehicle and $4 per gallon is half the cost of the transport charge. Here the NH dealer (also has Mahindra next door) charges $200 pickup and delivery charge for 30 mile trip each way. As for the cost of service, that sound reasonable compared to some of the horror stories of $500+ for a 50 hours service that included changing the HST fluid and motor oil and all filters. The HST filter for my Kubota is over $30 at the dealer and I would think Mahindra wouldn't be far behind and 5+ gallons of hydraulic fluid + motor oil etc. It looks like you got your service for about $100 labor. Maybe the cost was low because of winter work as cost usually are higher during peak seasons.
