Is this common? I may be wrong, but I think on the Branson the self-leveling loader has a bucket that is 5 inches narrower?

I can see no reason for smaller bucket with self leveling loader. Some models offer different size buckets as an option, could this be the situation here?

My experience with Deere is that a self-levelling bucket will lift more. My bucket is the same size.

If it's a ssqa bucket it may have been changed, ne reason for a narrower bucket on a self leveler, mine is an 84" bucket.

OP, can you clarify which buckets Branson makes that you are looking at?

BL200 and BL25R. I think 25R is just smaller bucket. At first I thought it looked like auto leveling bucket but don't believe it is.

ON the Branson the regular and self leveling different buckets? I have a JD that was bought with regular fel and replaced it with self level and buckets were same size.

I was looking at those loader/bucket models and I didn't see anything about self-leveling but the BL200 is definitely a bigger loader setup - 600lbs more lift and 5" wider.

If you are looking at the self leveling loader it probably has the QD like Skidsteers (attachments interchangeable between types of machines), since the non-leveling like I have has such.

With that said, you can have any sized bucket that has the QD attachment, you want. My loader bucket is a full 6' and I didn't pay extra for it. It was sitting on the lot. Had no idea a SL loader even existed at the time nor what buckets came with it, or could be used with it.

When I first bought my Deere 5520@ 89HP, I compared lift capacity of various models and brands and can't recall an instance where a comparable SL loader was rated for less weight than the non-SL version. I recall all lifting more and a few lifting the same weight. I really like my SL loader and fully prefer it over the non-SL loader. It's so much easier for thigs like pallets, big rocks or round hay bales.

Since SL loaders usually cost more, the dealer may have opted for a smaller bucket to make the price increase less.
