Could you temporarily mount your e-track parallel to, but offset from (say 1") the e-track's permanent position. Then make a jig with a 3/8 stub for the etrack holes and with a 5/16 drilling hole offset 1" from the 3/8 stub?

OK, the lessons learned post. I got the drill bit centered up on the countersunk holes by using flair nut coupling fittings, and a bit the just barely fit through the inner hole of the fitting. Then used that hole as a pilot for the larger drill bit.

Another reason to buy an assortment of drill bushings and a 3D printer. The ability to make custom jigs which do what I want accurately.
