My KAMA is the first diesel powered machine I have ever owned. Got it to replace a TO-30 (gas). This tractor will not see much use other than once a year bushhogging and snow removal, probably less than 30-40 hrs/year. I have heard that diesel fuel will degrade over time and will plug up the fuel system. Is there any truth to that, and if so, what would be the best way to deal with it?
Thanks

Dave,
There is a type of alge that grows in diesel, you can buy treatments to keep it in check.

The treatment is classified as a BIOCIDE and should be available under various product names at most marinas and boat dealers that cater to the diesel trade

Also. A full tank is the best way to keep water (condensation) out. Winter in Indiana also dictages the use of an anti-gel additive. But don't buy just any diesel fuel conditioner. Read the label to make SURE that it includes anti-gel properties.
