Seat for a 955

What the title says. I need a replacement and seats at Tractor Supply are priced outrageously ($100 for a seat, really?)...I'd like something that's affordable and similar to what's on the tractor now (black midback seat)

Sorry but $100 is cheap for a seat. TSC has the cheapest I've found locally. You can check eBay but Unfortunately they typically go up from there once you get into the suspension seats. Good luck with your search.

That's just ridiculous. I could understand if it was for the bracket/suspension or whatnot, but for the seat alone...that's stupid money.

Guess it's kinda like my stupid truck seat...little cheap plastic part down in the seat rail that locks the fore/aft slide movement broke, only way to fix it is to by a $200 replacement entire seat rail, that, oh by the way, is virtually guaranteed to break again in the future.

It is crazy. Suspension will put you in the $250+ range.

So is $45 for an exhaust pipe. $700 for a plastic hood. $450 for a cheap flimsy grille. $400 for the clutch & steel pack for the PTO clutch. $100 for hood hinges..... I could go on and on. Virtually everything you will ever buy for these tractors is rediculouly over-priced. You could always bolt a couple of wooden planks to the framework and sit on that, but after a couple hours seat time, your arse will thank you for spending a bit of money for decent padded seat.

It's just the nature of these beasts.

I don't mind model specific parts costs so much, I've been involved in business myself and knows what it maintains to run a business, maintain a supply of spare parts (especially for discontinued items), etc.

But a tractor seat? Really? All I'm asking for is a cheap generic seat to bolt in.

Yes, they do have some seats at surplus center, but they don't have anything like the contoured Milsco. I was looking for a particular style of seat.
