Mornin Jimi,
I have the three Sears boxes, although mine are black not RED :(
Im not sure if they are the same quality or grade, they have different grades along with the various draw slides ! I payed more than that 10 years ago !

That sounds like a heck of a deal !

It is a challenge every time I go to sears. They have so many sizes it confuses the sales people. I bought a 53" base model a couple years ago to go with a snap on upper. Turkey day Harbor Freight had the stainless upper and lower for $549. They only sold 5 per store and as luck would have it I also had a 10% off coupon. It is a huge well constructed tool box. It is a little larger than the Sam's model.

$169.98 + tax with instore pickup. With a store within 5 miles, I couldn't pass that up.

My wife is always saying "look how much I saved on this ..." Always seemed a little strange to me that statement would always be presented along with a sales slip showing how much she spent! Seems to me like she could save even more if she didn't spend what she spent to "save" that much. But, now, I've got a "Honey, look! I just saved $189.94!" for her!

Jim,
I also looked at your link, and when you go to check out that's the price it gave me also...make sure all of the buttons for "pick up in store" are checked.

I went to Sears yesterday and looked at the models on sale and was not impressed, I'll wait till a deal on a good used set comes along.

Ken, I read the reviews about it and the hinges are weak and the drawers need lots of oiling. I think I'll pass also.
I had a bakery proofer for sale about a year ago for $500 and nobody bought it, its a $4,000 unit, It measures about 9 feet wide and 6 feet tall with 3 huge doors and its stainless steel and galvy, I think thats my next tool box. All I have to do is add a few shelves and put it where I want it. I'll take it and have a walk in tool box LOL

Well, it may be the Yugo of tool box chest combos, but it meets my needs quite adequately, will probably last the rest of my life so I'm not concerned with "resale value", and $170 sure beats the snot out of $7000 for a toolbox.

I bought one and they are cheaply made. IT will work good for the nine year old. I spent about three hours repairing the slides and mounting the three pieces togehter. Thin steel.

Did I tell you mine had a nice dent in it. Called and complained and they took $100 off the CC bill. The dent is in the back corner. Who looks back there.
