Seafoam

it's one of the few good 'snake-oils' out there IMHO.

I grew up with Marvel Mystery Oil... lots of the old timers in the Model T club use it to keep valves from sticking when the cars are put up for the winter...

Also used Berryman Chemtool to clean carburetors...

I've used mmo as well.

as for berrymans and chemtool stuff.. that's far from snake oil.. that's pretty much industry standard carb products..

Seafoam is petroleum based, I use it in all my engines, its really effective for marine outboards and cleaning/decarbing.

As far as preserving gas, 100% gas = yes, gas with Ethanol = No

There is a Marine Stabil w/ethanol treatment for storing gas with ethanol. They advertise it as "Marine" Stabil, but its the same as regular stabil but w/Ethanol treatment. Just clearing that up as some think if it says "marine" its for that application only, not so. Marine outboards are having the most issues from this ethanol gas so its just a sales pitch.

the regular 'red' stabil now claims to do ethanol as well.

last 3 bottles I bought at walmart say that anyway.

Yep, my bottle of red Stabil from Walmsrt says, "Use in gasoline, gasoline/oil mixtures, ethanol blends."

If using seafoam for intake cleaning use hot water...Seafoam is over rated in this dept.
Last year chinamart had it for about 4.50 per can..now over 8...ripoff.

I want to keep water OUT of my engine.. not add it.
