School\'s Out!

Just thought I'd let you all know that yesterday was my last day with students and today is my last work day for the 1999-2000 school year! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif ! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif ! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif !

I do have some planning/work to do over the summer, but work/play time on the mighty TC18 definitely increases! /w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif

The cool thing about teaching is that you get to semi-retire every year for 29 years, then if you want you do the real thing after 30!

Let the summer begin!

As My teaching cousin says, "Its the best part-time job there is" Of course he is a gym teacher. In this area the gym teachers are making over 80k. Our property taxes are so high (over 6k, and thats average) and less than 12% goes to the kids needs. The rest goes to salery.

My daughter graduated from high school this year! I may be happier than you. No more morning fights to get her up and off to school. I christened her the last day of school with ice water. She's still mad and I'm still laughing. SHould have did it 2 years ago.

JimBinMI, Have a great summer off. That sure sounds good to us construction types dealing with the southern heat. Hope you find plenty of time to continue posting here. I for one, enjoy your input no matter what color it is.

Just for clarification...what used to be 3 months off here in Michigan is now about 9 weeks...but I'll still enjoy it!

We keep extending the school year so we can get more "learn'in" in and give the kids a better "edjumacation"! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Just when I'm use to knowing where the kids are at the cross walk, they will be dodging the traffic in new places and different times. You'll be safe to stay on the mighty blue and miss them unless they show up for grass cutting lessons. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif
