Scared to buy...Help

I'm looking at a mahindra 3016 with a FEL and BH with a 12in bucket. I was quoted a price of $22,900.
I don't know what just the tractor cost or the price with just the FEL so I have no way to compare to anything I searched, but when I see y'all posting quotes around $15,000 for tractor and FEL I get a sick feeling. Does the backhoe cost that much more or am I getting suckered? Anyone know a price on a 3716 BH?
This is the set up I want, just want to know what a fair price should be on the combo.

A backhoe is an expensive option. Several years ago, when I was quoted a price for a tractor, a backhoe added 5-6k to the price.

Just my opinion but I would definately go with the three range hydro offering for this tractor. Moving a tlb around is what I would consider precision work and the hydro is just the ticket for this.

The 8 forward 1 reverse and dry clutch would be a tough sell to me or almost anyone else in the future.

Backhoes are easily a $5000+ option. It's roughly $5400 for a little JD 260 backhoe, for something the size that you're looking up - I can see it being an $8000 option or more.

If you have other tractor dealerships in your area, look at the equivalent size of what you're looking at.

Many years ago a shuttle might have been OK for a TLB, but today the advantages of a hydro have been proven time and again.

I have found that true to rumor, backhoe prices run about $1000 per foot of digging depth + add additional 800 so if it digs 6 foot = $6800
IF I were you, I would look at a hydro model rather than gear and that will likely put you another 1500. You are getting into the range of a Kubota now comparable equipped. If I remember correctly my local dealer quoted me a B2690 with QA FEL, QA backhoe, 3 range hydro for $25,500 internet pricing. Likely could get him lower with a little dealing. Also if you wanted more HP, I dont think the 2920 is a lot higher. They do weigh much less than a Mahindra but in 5 years, that Kubota is going to be worth much more than the Mahindra in resell value.
I am not a current Kubota tractor owner but I do like their products like my RTV 900 and my soon to be mine 2009 Kubota B26 TLB. I decided on used vs new because I could get a lot more backhoe for less. Your mileage may vary on this but for $20,500 I got a 2009 B26 TLB with only 135 hours on it and most of those was using a mower. Something to consider, as occassional deals are out there.

I'm curious, are you looking at a dealership at this machine? If so ask him the tractor & FEL cost. Mahindra is a very good tractor and i'm sure you'de be happy with it. Years ago i bought a Kelley B70 and it was a lot of cash. I guess my only gripe with this deal is you said the tractor is a shuttle shift. I would definately want a Hydro, i own 2 and would never go back to gear for a low hp tractor, but this my opinion. Don't hesitate to throw out lower numbers on machine, i think its a bit high for a shuttle. . .John

Thanks guys. I'll be talking with the dealer today. Just wanted to get some opinions and info before we talked again. This is my 1st tractor and its gonna be used for brush clearing, food plots, and digging a pond. I've used older, bigger tractors in the past but never a compact with all these new features so its all new to me.
