I drove a 2400 today and was impressed. Reading around, i've seen references to easy loader removal. The salesman said the bucket comes off in a snap, but it would take an hour to get the booms off as well.

This would primarily be a mower, but doing numerous dirt jobs around my land. I have too many trees to easily mow with the loader on.

So how difficult is it to remove with a little practice? What tools are required?

One more question. I have several tow implements from my riding mower: spreader/dump cart/liquid spreader etc. I didn't notice a pin attachment on the 2400, but didn't look either. Can these still be used?

Thanks

Your salesman is a 'tard. It takes all of 5 minutes to install or remove the entire loader. You might want to request a new sales person the next time you go in. Anyone with actual knowledge of the product should be able to demo how to take the loader off and how to put it back on.

As for being able to tow implements... Yeah, there IS a hole in the back of the frame to hook on to. However, it's not the best setup so I had my brother laser cut a nice drawbar out of 1/2 plate at work and used the holes to bolt it in. Another option would be to purchase a 3pt drawbar at TSC for around 25 dollars.

Excellent response! Thank you.

He was actually very helpful and pointed out all the features and let me go at a pile of dirt with it. The only tractors there were this and an EX450. Otherwise they are a mower/yard shop. I'll forgive this one mistake.

I'm calling him now to let him know. I'll have him figure out how to do it, and then show me the next time i go back. Win/Win.

Take some pics of his demo and post a few here. Would be great to see how the FEL detaches and hooks up.

For those who want to know...

To remove the FEL, drive onto a level area. Put the support bars attached to the front of the FEL arms in the down position by removing the clip pins, rotating the arms, and reinstalling the clip pins. Get on the tractor. Lower the FEL to the ground in a level position. Remove the attachement pins (can be done while still on the tractor). Slowly back up and, using the hydraulics, extend the lift cylinders until the fel is free. Last, disconnect the four hydraulic lines using the quick disconnects.

It's really easy. Take a look at the tractor next time you're at the dealer and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Hozen is spot on with his loader removal advice...it really does only take 5 minutes once you are used to it. I am also a little surprised that the dealer did not know this. Anyway, the only tool I ever need is my needle nose to get those darn hair pin clips out to let the support arms down.

To remove the FEL, drive onto a level area.

Make sure of this my son in his infinite wisdom unhooked the loader on some very uneven and rough ground. BIG mistake LOL took about 20 minutes of cussing prying with a drift pin and use of a BFH to get those pesky pins back on.

but usually off is less than 2 minutes on is about 5 great set up.
Oh and the plugs for the hyd lines will break off just wad up some shop towel to put in when the loader is off and you are mowing (its not fun cleaning grass out of the inside of those lil quick connects
