Satoh Buck s470 starter problems

Hey guys I'm new to the forums, but glad I found them. I have recently purchased
a satoh buck, and I'm attempting to get her going again. after sitting for three plus
years I got her running and clutch unstuck and it will actually move. Anyway Ive
been trying to remove the starter and ive removed both bolts all the wires and I
have tried everything I can think of to remove it and it wont budge. is there some
secret to these starters or any advice? ive done everything short of applying heat
and going in from the back side. thanks in advance.

Welcome, I've had a Buck for 20+ years. Have never had trouble getting the starter off. Yours must have some rust holding it on. Use some PB Blaster and tap around it gently. Give it some time.

I take my starter to a local rebuilder.

Do a search using the numbers from the starter. Go from there. We don't have and rebuilders here, so when the starter on my 1850 went bad on me, I searched and found several hits.
Wound up getting a new one off EBay for a bit over $100, it landed on the doorstep 3 days later. Been 5 years now and no problems from that starter yet
